2020-21 Registration

U11,13,15,17 COMPETITION

The 2020/21 Junior cricket season is due to commence on October 16th 2020 until 20 December 2020. Training will commence at some point before this subject to COVID19 restrictions being lifted.

The season resumes on Sunday 17 January 2020 to 21 February 2021 with finals for the older teams taking place after this. At this stage all dates are subject to change.

Online Registration: Registration for  U11, U13, U15 & U17 close by 5pm, 11 September unless we need to fill teams. We reserve the right to close registrations early if the maximum numbers of players, per age group, has been reached. Registration process this year will take place in 2 parts with part 1 requiring a nominal $15 non-refundable fee to be paid that will cover insurance and admin costs. The fee will ensure that you can be considered for a position in one of the teams for the 2020/21 season.  Part 2 will take place at some point in September once we have an indication of when training can commence. Details (such as cost and training dates) will be provided to all those that register through part one of the process once we have them.

Team Selection Policy: Teams will be selected from registered, paid up players only.
Under 11 teams are not graded.  Once teams have been finalised no players are to change teams.

U13A and B sides are graded with remaining U13 sides to be composed of players of similar ability. To be selected in an A or B side, kids must show commitment to cricket and will be expected to attend all training sessions. Other considerations to be considered will be previous years technical and values based performance as assessed via Mycricket and the team coach. DEPENDING ON REGISTRATIONS, the above assessments may result in 1 or 2 stronger teams, 1or 2 teams of intermediate strength and 1 or 2 weaker teams.
Under 15 & Under 17 teams will be balanced (5/6 batsman, 1 wicket keeper/batsman, 1/2 allrounders, and 4 bowlers) and graded as per above guidelines.
Trials: U13 & U15 trials for team selection will be held in September. Details to follow by email once known.

If you are aware that you are unable to attend training or play in matches due to other extracurricular activities you must seek  clarification from the Registration officer before registering as it may impact on selection.

At the higher levels of under 13 and at under 15 and above, players who do not attend training or who consistently show disruptive behaviour may be impacted with limited opportunities on game day.

Due to ground limitations, there will be a limited number of Junior teams with limited place in each team. To ensure your successful registration, we recommend prompt registration as priority will be given to early applications received by the Club.

Teams, training dates and venues will be advised by email after the processing of all registrations

Annual Registration Fee:

(Includes Cap and Match Shirt and training shirt).

An initial non refundable fee of $15 will be collected to ensure players are registered through Cricket Victoria. This will ensure players can be considered for the 2020/21 season. Registration will not be completed until full payment is received and kids are registered through the Maccabi Rev Sport system. Details of part 2 registration process will be provided in September to all initially registered players.

Club Training:

To be advised by e mail. Training to take place on Monday or Wednesday nights at Caulfield Park and Princes Park between 5:30 and 7:00.

Player Gear and equipment:

Players MUST wear whites while playing.
All first year players should consult with their coach to become aware of clothing and equipment required on match day. Although the Club supplies the basic equipment, certain items will be required to be purchased by each player.

Parent Participation:

Whilst we all have numerous commitments, parents should support their children by attending as many of the matches as they can. The Club also requires parents to become involved in the Club activities. Parents are required to assist with ground set-up, scoring, morning tea and packing up as well as volunteering with Team manager responsibilities. Teams without team managers will not be able to compete in the competition.

Age qualification:

To qualify for particular age group a player must be under that age on the 1 September of the current year.

Under 11's must be at least 8 years old.

Privacy and Confidentiality:

Maccabi AJAX Junior Cricket Club is required to provide information to Victoria Maccabi and the regional association. Coaches and Team Managers require personal information. MAJCC will not distribute information to any other parties.
